LABOUR DAY 2021:YAWC CAMEROON LABOURS FOR ORPHANS.

 The Young African Women Congress Network Cameroon, led by the Littoral chapter on May 1, 2021 visited the  saint Arnile Maria orphanage center in Bonadele Douala.  The YAWC members led by the littoral focal person, Kininla Wirba Stephanie,  were bearers of messages of hope and love, and also took alongside with them,  3 bags of rice,  1 bag of salt and a cartoon of  tablet soap to the underprivileged children. The visit falls in line with YAWC Network's mission to assist the vulnerable and underprivileged in the society. During the visit, littoral focal person Kininla Wirba Stephanie said the YAWC came to encouraged the children.

 

On her part, the National Secretary General for YAWC Network Cameroon Chapter, Regina Liengu Etaka, took time off to present the different activities of the network. She said other projects have been envisaged to improve on the livelihood of the underprivileged. She also encouraged the promoters, to keep up the good work as their reward will come only from God.

Through songs and dance, the children appreciated the gesture and thanked YAWC Network Cameroon Chapter, for coming to their aid. The YAWC Network littoral membres made of Regina Liengu Etaka, Kininla Wirba Stephanie, Eileen Sama and Mirabelle Ayuk Tiku equally spent some quality time with the children. They talked to the children on one on one bases so as to  understand their specific needs.

The promoter of the center Mr Loh Sylvester, thanked the members of the YAWC network Cameroon Chapter. He said the foodstuffs offered, will go a long way to  assist in the daily feeding of the children. He equally used the opportunity, to call on other benevolent associations, to come to their aid.

Worthy of note is that the saint Arnile Maria orphanage center, that has been operating for over 17 years today,  has some 43 children of school going age. They equally take care of some physical challenged children.

Traditional Leaders Urge Government to Address Drug Abuse in Ntarikon 2 Community

On November 20, 2024, community spokespeople from the Adjust for Me project engaged religious and traditional leaders in an open discussion during a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Ntarikon 2. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of drug abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) within the community. Through this dialogue, the project sought to educate both youths and religious leaders on the dangers of substance abuse and to address how gender-based violence can be reduced in both the church and local communities.
