BAMENDA: MEN AND WOMEN COACHED ON COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES TOWARDS ENDING GBV

Effective communication has over the years had an impact on the growth and development of humans and societies at large. In this effect, the Center for human rights and Democracy in Africa held an evaluation and monitoring workshop on 25th November 2021 to educate actors against Gender Based violence on how they can effectively communicate the Start, Awareness Support Action SASA methodology in their communities to impact change. The capacity building workshop which took place at the CBC Hall Mile 3 Nkwen Bamenda, had Ndum Chalotte, a girls' right activist and a representative of CESCOMPSUP's Coordinator Madam Rosaline Obah as one of the facilitators. While highlighting the different communication strategies that can be used to effectively pass out the SASA message amongst which are advocacy, behavioral change, youth generational change, she noted that the SASA methodology has been a success and these communication strategies will be a plus to ending violence against women in

YAWC NETWORK CAMEROON OFFERS TRAUMA HEALING AND PSYCHO SOCIAL SUPPORT TO ITS MEMBERS.

Members of the YAWC Network Cameroon Chapter benefited from a trauma healing and psycho-social support session recently. The virtual session was aimed at giving YAWC members the opportunity to re-examine their lives and learn new self-care skills as well as learning how to manage stress in a crisis context. With the different crisis faced by the country coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic that has greatly affected Cameroon, women and girls remain the most vulnerable group, as a result, the session was also   to enable them to be resilient   as well as support others in the same condition and more.   In her opening address, the YAWC Network chapter president Rosaline Obah thanked members for taking part in the workshop. She said such a workshop will enable them to be useful to their community, adding that it was important that women gain new skills on self-care and stress management. CAGEAD LAUNCHES UNSCR1325 SIMPLIFIED MANUAL.

  The Center for Advocacy, Gender Equality and Action for Development has on Thursday 22 April 2021 launched   a Manual   to help make learning easy for grassroots facilitators who are aiding the localization of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 ( UNSCR1325) on women , peace and Security agenda in Communities across Cameroon. The launch which   took place under the umbrella of the Bamenda 3  Council Hall, with strict respect of the Covid-19 measures and attended by some   dignitaries and   stakeholders, is a follow up of a project which began some few months back with the training of some women and men as community peace Ambassadors   in the Bamenda 1 and 3 locality. The training together with the manual presented to these women and men who are now certified CPAs seeks to empower them with knowledge and skills which will help them carry out the UNSCR1325 with diligence.
