BRIGARDIER GENERAL NKA VALERE HAMMERS ON DISCIPLINE AND RESPECT OF HIERARCHY TO COMBAT FAKE NEWS.

Discipline and respect of hierarchy are core military principles, a unique condition critical to operational success that sets the military apart from the rest of society. Brigardier General Nka Valère, commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, while on inspection visit in Menchum Division, called on his troops to respect their hierarchy and be disciplined so as to avoid careless lost of their comrades.  Speaking at The Headquarters of the 53rd Motorised Infantry Battalion in Wum Menchum Division, the Army Chief reminded soldiers that "Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak and esteem to all." The Commander's inspection visit, was also to galvanize the troops on the battle field. He called on them to be steadfast in their mission and not to be discouraged by what is said on the social media. To him, what is said on the social media is aimed at destabilising, demoralizing, destroying and even dividing the forces

BRIGARDIER GENERAL NKA VALERE URGED POPULATIONS TO WORK IN SYNERGY WITH DEFENSE AND SECURITY FORCES TO FOSTER PEACE.

By Stephen Ojang in Esu The complex nature of humanitarian relief, peace building and reconstruction missions, are increasingly forcing military and civilian actors to operate in the same space and at the same time. The Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, Brigardier General Nka Valère, has understood the need for a cooperation between the military and the population, as a response to human need. It is for this obvious reason that the Army Chief connected with civilians in the theatre of their operations in Web, Esu and Ndawara ranch. Be it at Weh or Esu, the military Commander, Brigardier General Nka Valère, told the populations to shun fear, rise above it and return to their homes and participate in peace building as well as their village. He also underscored the fact that both soldiers and civilians cannot ignore each other. Brigardier General Nka Valère, reassured the populations of total security and an eminent return to normalcy. This to him, can only be done if they all t

ESU-KPEP-FURU AWA ROAD; BRIGARDIER GENERAL NKA VALERE SATISFIED.

By Stephen Ojang in Wum The Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, with Headquarters in Bamenda, Brigardier General Nka Valère, has expressed satisfaction for the ongoing rehabilitation works on the stretch of the road, ESU-KPEP-FURU AWA, in Menchum Division. He made the appraisal while on an inspection visit to the site. The rehabilitation works are being done by the Military engineering Corps, Genie Militaire. To Brigardier General Nka Valère, the importance of this stretch of the road cannot be over emphasized given the fact that it will go a long way to help ease circulation of goods and persons, as well as to ease intervention of troops to Furu Awa, without having to use an airlift. (Helicopter) Upon completion of this road, military operatives will intervene rapidly than before. Worthy of note is the fact that, the stretch of road Esu-Kpep-Furu Awa, has been abandoned for over two decades, without any maintenance. The passing of the heavy equipment of the military engineerin

NGAR-BUH INCIDENT; PCC MODERATOR REACTS.

Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba, Moderator of the PCC “We outrightly condemn the killing of children, women and entire household in Ngarbuh – Ntumbaw. We equally denounce the ungodly act of burning a PCC house of worship at Mbufung – Bali. Once more, it has proven to us that military might or violence is not the solution to this problem. An insincere route to peace, half measures, lack of good will, a general insensitivity to the pain of God’s people, the hate speech and violence perpetrated by armed separatists, an extremely poor governance and selfish politics continues to fuel this crisis. Can we not implement in full all the proposals of the Grand National Dialogue? In this circumstance, the role of External Mediators just like before has become urgent and expedient. We have failed as a people to protect God’s children, surely God is vexed and we must repent as a nation”    Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba, PCC Moderator and President Council of Protestant Churches.

In a letter addressed to all men and women of good will in the Diocese of Kumbo, the Bishop writes that they are reliably informed about the events that led to the deaths in Ngarbuh last Friday. His account contained in the pastoral letter is in sharp contrast to the official government position. Bishop Nkuo writes: “We have been reliably informed about a very sad incident, which took place on the 14th of February in the village of Ngarbuh-Ntumbaw in Saint Martin de Porres Parish Ndu. On Friday 14th February 2020, the military invaded Ngarbuh at 4 a.m. and we are told that twenty-four (24) people were killed among whom were pregnant women and little children. Some of the victims were burnt alive and several others wo

BAMENDA KILLING, PROMPT REACTION FROM THE GOVERNMENT.

Contrary to what obtained last Friday in Ngar-bu, where some children were killed and the Yaoundé regime stayed mute for over 72 hours, the isolated incident at St Mary Soledad Catholic Hospital in Bamenda, has received greater attention from the Cameroon government.     The explanation as to what happened, is contained in a ministerial circular No 01187/CRP/MINDEF/01.

GOD: OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH

By Stephen Ojang in Wum.     The men of truth and women of joy of PC Naikom in Menchum presbytery, have been introduced to their 2020 study book which has as theme; "God is  our refuge and strength    with watch words always ready to help in times of trouble.       It is no doubt that this year's theme falls squarely in line with the social reality and the life lived by christians of this Presbytery. Another coincidence is the abundant red colour over the black that symbolises the blood shed in this sinful world. Despite all these atrocities committed to children of God, there is a gleamer of hope symbolised by the church house built on a hill, and the remnant Christians, carrying their cross and burden, looking up to God to cast them onto him thereby, asserting that He is our refuge and strength as He will always help us in difficult times.    An in-depth literary appreciation of this year's joint publication of the CWF/CMF Work Departments, shows that God's presence

DIARY OF A REPORTER.

By Stephen Ojang in Wum .    Traveling to Wum, Menchum Divisional Head Quarters, has become a nightmare, especially through Bafut subdivision. To embark on this journey requires a strong mind. The untold stories of non-state armed groups give you a fever. For those who like me, have undertaken the journey, a denial of these stories is like fake news, spreading like wild fire in the heart of the dry season, and driving people into Indiana Jones' temple .      This is an account of a reporter who braved the odds, daring where others dare not.  I traveled to Wum via the dreaded Bafut subdivision. I can vividly remember it as if it happened just yesterday. The enthusiasm that gripped me to travel, see and now account for what I saw and experienced.      Whenever a dark cloud of silence engulfs information, It is often possible to discover deliberate efforts at concealment. This however does not fully account for the general low level of awareness that one can trek to Wum through Ba

Viral photo said to be of the kids killed in Ngarbuh /  Facebook. There has been widespread condemnation of the killing of no fewer than 30 people in Ngarbuh on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, 2020 by men said to have been armed with sophisticated weaponries. Though the identity of the killers is shrouded in doubts, reports suggest that the armed men set houses on fire, killing babies, pregnant women and the elderly in Ngarbuh, a locality in Ntumbaw, Ndu Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division of Cameroon’s North West Region. Hours after the incident, government is yet to make an official statement. Cameroon-info.net understands that Cameroon’s defense and security forces have since 2017 been battling armed men who seek to make of the country’s North West and South West regions an independent state christened Ambazonia. Even as either of the armed parties – the State Forces and the Non-State Armed Groups – is yet to shed light on Friday’s killings, many are those who have laid blame
