Ahead of the 2020/2021 school year in Wum Sub-division, the Divisional Officer of this administrative unit Mr. Kouekam Guy Honoré, recently embarked on a sensitization tour of his administrative unit with the sole aim of softening the soil before the planting season on October 5th 2020.

The Administrative Authority was accompanied in his daunting task by the 1st Deputy Mayor of Wum Council, Councilor Hamza Umaru and stakeholders of the education sector.

The delegation moved from one village to the other, encouraging parents to shun fears and send their children to school while challenging economic operators to eradicate fear from their minds and hearts, and put at the disposal of parents and students, school needs such as books, pens, school bags, uniforms and others.

The Administrative Authority expressed satisfaction seeing the eagerness of parents to send their children to school and the zeal of the children to go back to school.

“The first thing is that I am very happy to know that my population are preoccupied about the future of their children. This shows that there is a synergy between their D.O and them. I also know that we are still having challenges in our subdivision as far as normalcy is concerned. But our main now is the future of our children. I trust the population of my subdivision as they are all eager to educate their children. I know they are also very ready to work together with the administration so that together we can meet up with our common challenges.”
