CHAIRMAN NI JOHN FRU NDI'S 2022 END OF YEAR MESSAGE TO CAMEROONIANS.

Members of the SDF family, Brothers and Sisters of this country. I stand here to wish you people a happy new year. When i say happy, it's because we deserve to be happy. But if we look at ourselves as Cameroonians especially those from the Northwest and Southwest, are we really happy? So many have lost their loved ones, we can't live at peace and at ease in our own hometowns. So many people have taken refuge in Mbouda, Bafoussam, Douala away from their own hometowns and cannot come home to feel at home. Their properties have been destroyed. In the early days of this struggle, when I left here going to the farm, i went through Boyo and grass had covered the main roads because vehicles were not passing, vehicles were destroyed, so many things took place that many did not feel safe and at ease in their homes.  But as we're approaching the year 2023, I want to thank God that some of us are still alive, those that are dead, are dead and gone but we have to continue. I've alw

Un cadeau de Noel pas comme les autres au PEV Nord-Ouest.

Twenty-nine brand new Yamaha 100 motorbikes were handed over to 29 public, private and faith-based health facilities in the Northwest on December 23, 2022. As a result of Minsante-GAVI cooperation, this equipment aims at improving vaccination services and most importantly to reinforce the outreach strategies of health centers in the community. In a region where vaccination performance has been significantly affected by six years of socio-political, humanitarian and security crisis, it was timely that such an initiative was undertaken to boost performance. The handing over ceremony was presided over by the Northwest Regional Health boss, Dr Che Soh Kingsley. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and that the differences in coverage should be felt in the early months of the coming year 2023. En date du 23 Décembre 2022, ce sont 29 motos flambant neuves marque Yamaha 100 qui ont été remises à 29 structures de santé publiques, privée et confessionnelles dans le Nord-

MIH BIBIANA MBEI EPOUSE DIGHAMBONG: A TASTE OF HOMELESSNESS.

Mayor Dighambong Anthony Mvo 's home was swept away by flames on the night of October 16 , 2022 .  All that remains is ash at the home of the mayor of Wum , a town in Menchum Division of the Nor th-West   region  of the Republic of Cameroon . On the night of October 16 , the residence of Dighambong Anthony Mvo  went up in smoke as only few people were  present at the scene. The arson was carried out by unidentified gun men who are still on the run . Few months after the charring  of the mayor's  residence, the wife came visiting and was shocked by what she saw and mustered courage as she felt the pinch of being not only homeless but  being so in one's own community.  I came home to serve my community, but I am Homeless in my own community because of outright heartlessness, Human wickedness and cruelty. YES, I NOW KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HOMELESS IN YOUR OWN LAND! YES, I HAVE TASTED OF THIS GROSS INHUMANITY! AND DRUNK FROM THE CUP OF BITTER TRAGEDY! YES, I HAVE FELT THE W

COVID-19: MENCHUM DIVISION AT WARFRONT

The Senior Divisional Officer of Menchum Division, Abdoullahi Aliou, has officially launched the 5th Covid-19 immunization campaign in Menchum Division, with a call to intensify the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. He noted with dissatisfaction the plethora of misinformation misleading the population and preventing them from receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. Abdoullahi Aliou was speaking during the launching of the immunization campaign against COVID-19. The launching event took place Thursday November 17 at the conference hall of the SDO's office and served as a platform for the Civil Administrator to amplify the call for the fight against misinformation that has greatly jeopardized vaccination measures against the pandemic. In a situational analysis of the Covid-19, the District Medical Officer DMO of Wum Health District, Dr. Elomme Bako stated that the pandemic has been in the Division for over two years with five deadly waves with five deaths recorded so far. In order to bring t

LOCKS FOR LUCK IN LOVE.

I heard about 'locks for luck' years ago when i was working on story on how traditional doctors treat mental health diseases. I visited the shrine of one of the doctors in Tubah sub division. There was a long queue of patients waiting to see the “doctor” for different conditions.Among them were women 'searching for the fruit of the womb', typhoid patients waiting with empty gallons in which they would buy their concoctions, people seeking luck in love waiting with their locks in hand. A small store at the entrance of doctor’s compound, rented kitchen stools. The queue was often long so patients rented chairs to sit on while waiting. The store also sold empty water bottles and of course locks! I was told that , the tradi 'doctor' blessed the locks and made incantations aligned to the desire of the client. He locked it & threw the key away to make the desired results permanent. The clients returned home with lock.Lovers locked their desire for "forever aft

Tolerance, Bedrock of the Society (II)

In an age where the electronic media has drawn us closer together into what is called a global village, or a global society, its benefits will only be felt when mutual goodness prevails, when mutual respect and understanding prevail. If, instead of good feelings, hatred emerges, if restlessness usurps heartfelt peace, then we must accept that this is not progress, but is something that will take us towards unexpected results. In this globalisation, where people of different backgrounds, cultures and religions are living together, and where the world has become multicultural and full of diversity, establishing tolerance and harmony has become very crucial and important, and fostering mutual love and affection has become vital. Without tolerance and harmony the lasting peace of societies cannot be maintained, and loyalty for each other cannot be established. Loyalty is borne from feelings of love and affection. At a personal level the feelings of love strengthens the feelings of loyalty.

Ending deadly Anglophone conflict: Points to Ponder.

As the various 'Ambazonian Interim Governments' continue to fight each other over who is legitimate enough be invited to the Canadian round of talks ; and, as they dévelop one sophisticated argument over another on Canada's neutrality in facilitating the talks that could go a long way to end the deadly Anglophone conflict, we @TheColbertFactor prefer to proffer suggestions to those who have the power to influence government of Cameroon delegation to the Canadian conference. If we were to be invited to the talks, we would have jumped on the idea to tell Canadian, Cameroon authorities and all the factions running the show supposedly on our behalf out there that as they wine and dine in their comfort zones, streets in disputed territories are being painted on a daily basis with blood, pain and suffering. We would remind them that those living in the two English-speaking regions are 'living and partly living'. That youths in the former Southern Cameroons are self-immola

Tolerance, The Bedrock of Every Peaceful Society (I)

Tolerance is an important concept that helps people to live together peacefully. To be tolerant means that you accept other people’s opinions and preferences, even when they live in a way that you don’t agree with. Tolerance also means that you don’t put your opinions above those of others, even when you are sure that you are right. Tolerant people show strength in that they can deal with different opinions and perspectives. Tolerance makes it possible for people to coexist peacefully. It is the basis for a fair society in which everyone can lead their lives as they wish. Tolerance doesn’t just make peaceful coexistence possible, another advantage is that being open to other ways of thinking can help with personal development. When you know more about different thinking and ideas from around the world, it will help you to understand the world better. Teaching children about tolerance is the best gift that you can give them. Children shouldn’t grow up with feelings of hate and suspicion

Teachers Appreciation month: Children mark their scripts (Part I)

Since time immemorial, society has attributed to the teacher the principal role of grading pupils and students' scripts, besides their traditional duties of spending long hours every week preparing lessen notes and attending refresher conferences to better the teaching/ learning process. Teachers themselves since legitimized this role by making the blue and red pen become a natural extension of their human bodies; in much the same way cell phones were once stocked to the owners' waistband. From the moment one saw a blue and red pen stocked to the chest pocket of an individual in society, one never needed to negotiate the next bend before ascertaining he was a teacher.  Taking the pretext of this October month which is recognized the world over as 'Teachers Appreciation Month', beginning October 5, which is World Teachers Day; we at The Colbert Factor, decided to turn the heat on the teachers by reaching out to their pupils and students(past and present), to award marks

Every Act of Violence is a Choice

Anyone who has experienced violence either in the form of abuse, domestic violence, crime or terrorism is faced with the same questions and choices. Does your life matter and if so to who? Is it your life worth preserving?   How will you do that? Through reciprocating in kind and choosing violence as your change agent or through peaceful, non-violent means.   In the heat of the moment, when the intrinsic will to live flares up to ensure your survival, these micro moments of panicking thoughts flash through your  head amid a flood of negative emotions, fear, anger and other negative feelings.  They all clamour for attention and drive you into fight or flight reactions. And the logical choice at the time for most of us, is survival, fight and win or run and hide.  Which most of us do. These are perfectly understandable and natural  reactions and  have assured the perpetuation of the human race since time began. But there is a third option which involves neither fighting nor running.  And

Start of the Week Motivation: A Positive Environment is a Healthy Environment.

Everything is energy. Energy is powerful enough to create your success or promote your demise. Everything you involve yourself in is a result of the energy you contribute.  How you contribute to your professional environment is as important as what you contribute.  You may have the experience, knowledge, skill, and a long history of success; however, if you approach a new project, a meeting, a new job, an employee, your boss, or a customer with infected/negative energy, you should also be prepared to take responsibility for the consequences. Developing and maintaining positive energy involves more than merely thinking happy thoughts. It is the anticipation of good (i.e. happiness, health and success) and it is the belief that all things — situations, obstacles and difficulties — will work out favorably in the end. As a leader, your energy can determine the success of a meeting, a workday or even your overall company.  If you have an employee or co-worker who is struggling, have you

The Colbert Factor: Arson on Nchang Catholic church: 'God-ordained' struggle without God.

When on 15 March 2019, two consecutive mass shootings occured in a terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand, which attacks were carried out by a gunman, Australian-born Brenton Harrison Tarrant, who attacked the mosques during Friday prayers; the world came to the sudden realisation that real crime can be ignited online, coordinated online, and finally executed with the minutest of detail on real time in the real world. That singular attack killed 50 muslim faithful, living some 40 seriously wounded. People who only demanded to worship their God differently. The case of New Zealand was quite unique in that this time around, it wasn't some muslim fundamentalist trying to launch an attack against some western symbol, but interestingly, a white supremacist acting on some strange ideology that the muslim religion and culture had no place in a white-only land. Recall muslims make up 15% of New Zealand population. Harrison Tarrant was a member of the far-right xenop
