CHAIRMAN NI JOHN FRU NDI'S 2022 END OF YEAR MESSAGE TO CAMEROONIANS.

Members of the SDF family, Brothers and Sisters of this country. I stand here to wish you people a happy new year. When i say happy, it's because we deserve to be happy. But if we look at ourselves as Cameroonians especially those from the Northwest and Southwest, are we really happy? So many have lost their loved ones, we can't live at peace and at ease in our own hometowns. So many people have taken refuge in Mbouda, Bafoussam, Douala away from their own hometowns and cannot come home to feel at home. Their properties have been destroyed. In the early days of this struggle, when I left here going to the farm, i went through Boyo and grass had covered the main roads because vehicles were not passing, vehicles were destroyed, so many things took place that many did not feel safe and at ease in their homes.  But as we're approaching the year 2023, I want to thank God that some of us are still alive, those that are dead, are dead and gone but we have to continue. Un cadeau de Noel pas comme les autres au PEV Nord-Ouest.

Twenty-nine brand new Yamaha 100 motorbikes were handed over to 29 public, private and faith-based health facilities in the Northwest on December 23, 2022. As a result of Minsante-GAVI cooperation, this equipment aims at improving vaccination services and most importantly to reinforce the outreach strategies of health centers in the community. In a region where vaccination performance has been significantly affected by six years of socio-political, humanitarian and security crisis, it was timely that such an initiative was undertaken to boost performance. The handing over ceremony was presided over by the Northwest Regional Health boss, Dr Che Soh Kingsley. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and that the differences in coverage should be felt in the early months of the coming year 2023. En date du 23 Décembre 2022, ce sont 29 motos flambant neuves marque Yamaha 100 qui ont été remises à 29 structures de santé publiques, privée et confessionnelles dans le Nord-

MIH BIBIANA MBEI EPOUSE DIGHAMBONG: A TASTE OF HOMELESSNESS.

Mayor Dighambong Anthony Mvo 's home was swept away by flames on the night of October 16 , 2022 .  All that remains is ash at the home of the mayor of Wum , a town in Menchum Division of the Nor th-West   region  of the Republic of Cameroon . On the night of October 16 , the residence of Dighambong Anthony Mvo  went up in smoke as only few people were  present at the scene. The arson was carried out by unidentified gun men who are still on the run . Few months after the charring  of the mayor's  residence, the wife came visiting and was shocked by what she saw and mustered courage as she felt the pinch of being not only homeless but  being so in one's own community.  I came home to serve my community, but I am Homeless in my own community because of outright heartlessness, Human wickedness and cruelty. YES, I NOW KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HOMELESS IN YOUR OWN LAND! YES, I HAVE TASTED OF THIS GROSS INHUMANITY! AND DRUNK FROM THE CUP OF BITTER TRAGEDY! YES, I HAVE FELT THE W

LOCKS FOR LUCK IN LOVE.

I heard about 'locks for luck' years ago when i was working on story on how traditional doctors treat mental health diseases. I visited the shrine of one of the doctors in Tubah sub division. There was a long queue of patients waiting to see the “doctor” for different conditions.Among them were women 'searching for the fruit of the womb', typhoid patients waiting with empty gallons in which they would buy their concoctions, people seeking luck in love waiting with their locks in hand. A small store at the entrance of doctor’s compound, rented kitchen stools. The queue was often long so patients rented chairs to sit on while waiting. The store also sold empty water bottles and of course locks! I was told that , the tradi 'doctor' blessed the locks and made incantations aligned to the desire of the client. He locked it & threw the key away to make the desired results permanent. The clients returned home with lock.Lovers locked their desire for "forever aft

Tolerance, Bedrock of the Society (II)

In an age where the electronic media has drawn us closer together into what is called a global village, or a global society, its benefits will only be felt when mutual goodness prevails, when mutual respect and understanding prevail. If, instead of good feelings, hatred emerges, if restlessness usurps heartfelt peace, then we must accept that this is not progress, but is something that will take us towards unexpected results. In this globalisation, where people of different backgrounds, cultures and religions are living together, and where the world has become multicultural and full of diversity, establishing tolerance and harmony has become very crucial and important, and fostering mutual love and affection has become vital. Without tolerance and harmony the lasting peace of societies cannot be maintained, and loyalty for each other cannot be established. Loyalty is borne from feelings of love and affection. At a personal level the feelings of love strengthens the feelings of loyalty.
