37eme PROMOTION DE EMIA: PAUL BIYA HONORE LE BAS PEUPLE.

Le lieutenant Mefire Major de la 37ème PROMOTION de L’EMIA est le fils d’une vendeuse de beignets de Foumban. Le rêve camerounais !

La cour d’honneur de la Brigade du Quartier a servi de cadre à la sortie de la 37ème promotion des élèves officiers de l’Ecole Militaire Interarmées du Cameroun « baptiser promotion Général de Division Kodji Jacob ». Le Général de Division codji Jacob pour mémoire, était le commandant de L’Opération Emergence 4, l’unité d’élite de la lutte contre Boko Haram.

Il est mort tragiquement il y a quelques plus années, précisément 22 janvier 2017 des suites d’un crash d’hélicoptère dans l’Extrême-Nord du Cameroun lors d’une mission commandée. Le Président de la République, Chef suprême des forces armée, faut-il le souligner a personnellement présidé la cérémonie ce 24 janvier 2020.

Mais le héros de la dernière promotion des aspirant de l’EMIA, à n’en point douter est Ahmed Mefire, le major de cette promotion. Et pour cause, ce jeune homme de 25 ans qui a eu l’insigne et singulier honneur de recevoir ses épaulettes des mains du de Paul Biya, est issue d’une famille modeste. Excusé de l’euphémisme ! son père est versé dans cette gamme de techniciens qui courts d’un chantier à l’autre, et qui gèrent la vie au quotidien. En dépit de sa condition modeste ce garçon né le 19 janvier 1995, originaire du Département du Noun Région de l’Ouest, a pu se surpasser, pour être admis à la prestigieuse Ecole Militaire Inter armée. Et par la suite devenir le major de sa promotion.

Pour son premier exploit, celle d’avoir été admis à l’EMIA, les mauvaises langues qui trouve toujours à redire retorqueront trivialement que « même si son père n’était rien, c’est sûr qu’il a un oncle ou quelqu’un qui est quelque chose à Yaoundé ». Soit ! mais pour le second exploit de major qu’en diront-il ? il est vrai que le Cameroun vogue dans un contexte où tout s’achète, même les diplôme, mais il n’y a pas de règle sans exception.

Breaking the Cycle: Confronting Gender-Based Violence and Drug Abuse in Bamenda

In a bid to tackle the pressing issues of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and drug abuse, the "Adjust for Me" project, implemented by Common Action for Gender Development (COMAGEND), has been making strides in the Ntarikon 2 community, Bamenda. The project, which aims to raise awareness and educate the community on the causes, consequences, and prevention of GBV and drug abuse, has been well-received by community members. Peace journalists in Bamenda aquaint themselves with skills on humanitarian reporting and security/safety of journalists

This statement was  made by Fonyuy Kiven Frankline, the information officer at the United Nations for the coordination of humanitarian affairs, on December 27 2019 at Ntamulung church center hall as he trained peace journalists in Bamenda on humanitarian reporting and Security/safety of journalists.
