Women in Cameroon's economic capital Douala have turned out in their numbers today march 8th 2020 dressed in black to celebrate this years edition of the international women's day.These group of women called "mothers of the nation" headed by the president of the Cameroon's people party (CPP) Edith Kah wallah marched the streets of Douala today 8 march 2020 all dressed in black as means of mourning the numerous women and children killed as a result of the ongoing socio-political crisis in the Northwest and southwest region.
After attending holy mass at the St Peter and Paul's cathedral in Douala ,the women took to the streets calling for peace and political transition in Cameroon. The forces of law and order who attempted to stop the women from marching from the cathedral to the CPP head quarters failed. According to Barrister Michelle Ndoki,dressing in black on march 8th 2020 signifies the pain and agony women go through as a result of the ongoing anglophone crisis.
