BACK TO SCHOOL: HON. KUM JOHN NJI PUTS SMILES ON FACES IN HIS CONSTITUENCY.



The member of Parliament of Menchum North Constituency, Hon. Kim John Nji, was in his constituency to encourage Parents to send back their children to school. This tour took him to Zhoa, Weh and Bafmeng where he donated didactic materials to over 500 students who are already attending classes since Monday 5th October 2020.

Worthy to note is the fact that at GHS Zhoa, the Member of Parliament took an engagement to pay the registration fees of form one students who braved all the odds last year and attended school and passed the common entrance into secondary school.

It is also important to note that, the Member of Parliament paid registration fees for all these pupils for common entrance examinations and First School Leaving Certificate, 2020 session.


During the visit, the MP reminded the students and pupils that education was a guarantee for a better future. He implored them to encourage their brothers and sisters who have not yet started attending classes, to get registered in the nearest school.

To parents, he appealed to overcome fear and send their children to school and appealed that maximum collaboration be given to the authorities to ensure security in the area.


The MP was accompanied in his tour by the Mayor of Zhoa Council through the very difficult terrain. It should be noted that Zhoa and Furu Awa councils equally donated materials to primary school children to encourage effective school resumption.


The gesture from these elected officials was highly appreciated by the population, the Representative of the Delegate of Secondary Education for Menchum, the Inspector of Basic Education and Divisional Officer for Fungom Sub Division who personally witnessed the sharing of materials in Zhoa.


It should be noted that this caravan had to do part of the journey on foot, part on bikes due to the very deplorable state of the roads in the constituency.

The Reign of Terror in Menchum: A Horrific Encounter on the Wum-Bamenda Route

                                            The reign of terror in Menchum once again manifested itself in horrific fashion on the Wum-Bamenda road on Wednesday 5 June 2024, turning an ordinary morning journey into a nightmare. As passengers like Pa Cheghe Bang Mathias left Wum and the surrounding area s  for Bamenda, they found themselves trapped in an ambush by a band of armed men claiming to be Amba fighters. Traditional Leaders Urge Government to Address Drug Abuse in Ntarikon 2 Community

On November 20, 2024, community spokespeople from the Adjust for Me project engaged religious and traditional leaders in an open discussion during a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Ntarikon 2. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of drug abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) within the community. Through this dialogue, the project sought to educate both youths and religious leaders on the dangers of substance abuse and to address how gender-based violence can be reduced in both the church and local communities.
