BIHAPH PUTS SMILES ON FACES OF UNDERPRIVILEGED AND NEEDY PERSONS IN WUM.



From household to office and medical equipment, the eleven groups that were identified by the Bihndumlem Humanitarian Association of Peace and Hope, BIHAPH, in collaboration with the Crossroads foundation Hong Kong, went home with strings of smiles on their faces, and joy in their hearts, as they received a variety of gifts comprised of computers, dresses medical equipment to assist the Wum district hospital for maximum health care provision for the satisfaction of the patients. To some schools, a couple of benches were given in order to salvage the poor sitting conditions of the children.



While donating the material, the CEO of BIHAPH, a humanitarian non-governmental organization, laid emphasis on the need for all to cultivate the spirit of sharing especially with the needy. Quoting from the Gospel according to St. Luke 6:38, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you", Mrs. Dighambong Bibiana, expressed thanks and gratitude to Crossroads foundation Hong Kong, for this timely gesture given that the sociopolitical crisis had increased the poverty situation of the local population.


The Wum council, the Wum community radio, GTTC Wum, precious sisters Association, GTHS Wum, GHS Wum, Jopacc Wum, the SDO's office and the Wum district hospital, are some of the happy beneficiary of the largesse of BIHAPH and the Crossroads Foundation Hong Kong.

Welcoming onlookers and beneficiaries, the Second Deputy Mayor of the Wum Council, Sih Marie Zenobia, did not mince words as she said BIHAPH Cameroon is a trustworthy organization, and called on the beneficiaries, to judiciously use the items for the purpose for which they are intended.

The first assistant SDO for Menchum, Demanou Fabrice, greatly saluted the gesture of Bihndumlem Humanitarian Association of Peace and Hope, BIHAPH, and described the kind hearted gesture as timely given the fact that it is coming at the moment when the division is gradually emerging from the four long, gloomy and bloody years of hardship caused by the Anglophone crisis.

The occasion also gave the opportunity for some volunteers to be recognized and certificates were awarded  for the services rendered.

Traditional Leaders Urge Government to Address Drug Abuse in Ntarikon 2 Community

On November 20, 2024, community spokespeople from the Adjust for Me project engaged religious and traditional leaders in an open discussion during a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Ntarikon 2. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of drug abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) within the community. Through this dialogue, the project sought to educate both youths and religious leaders on the dangers of substance abuse and to address how gender-based violence can be reduced in both the church and local communities. Many religious leaders expressed that while some progress has been made, the increasing prevalence of drug abuse among young people remains a pressing concern. Peace journalists in Bamenda aquaint themselves with skills on humanitarian reporting and security/safety of journalists

This statement was  made by Fonyuy Kiven Frankline, the information officer at the United Nations for the coordination of humanitarian affairs, on December 27 2019 at Ntamulung church center hall as he trained peace journalists in Bamenda on humanitarian reporting and Security/safety of journalists.
