The Senior Divisional Officer for Menchum Division, Abdoullahi Aliou, has launched the Youth day manifestations in Wum, Menchum Divisional Headquarters.

Paying homage to the fallen sons and daughters, as well as defense and security officers, during the ongoing Anglophone crisis. The SDO noted that the crisis has had a negative impact on the youths. Given the difficulties faced by the Youths of his administrative unit of Command, the SDO for Menchum Division, exhorted these youths not to be discouraged, but rather have a positive spirit as there are many opportunities to grab. The SDO enjoined the youths to integrate voluntary and benevolent notions, and shun acts that degrade the minds and bodies such as alcoholism, drug consumption, terrorism and disrespect of national symbols.

The launching ceremony of the youths day activities in Wum was done following the presentation of activities by the Divisional Delegate of Youth and Civic Education, Loh Odette Akum.

Attentive youths, looking into the future.

Drawing inspiration from this year's theme of Youths, Resilience, challenges and opportunities in COVID-19 time, the administrator sent words of encouragement to these youths. I am happy for your turn out. This has added another colour to this year's celebration, unlike in previous years when we could not find you. I am proud of you because you face with courage, the hardship imposed by the crisis. I am proud of you because you refused to be manipulated by agents of destruction and anarchy.

SDO faces COVID-19 team.

Activities selected for this year's youth day celebration, tie squarely with this year's youth day theme. Obvious reasons for the presence of the Wum District's medical team to conduct COVID-19 test to all those who turned out for the launching exercise.
