COVID-19: NORTH WEST PUBLIC HEALTH DELEGATE RECEIVES VACCINES WITH GREAT EUPHORIA.

After the Center and the West Regions, the North West Region received its own share of the Covid-19 vaccine with great Euphoria. To receive the vaccine at the regional delegation of public health was the Secretary General at the Governor's office Viang Mekala, in the presence of other top Government officials as the Vaccine was handed over to the Public Health Delegate, Dr. Che Soh Kingsley.

In total, 11400 Covid-19 Vaccines finally arrived the North West Region on Wednesday 14th of April 2021 with the aim of targeting the health personnel so as to boost up their moral as they have been on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 as they threat Covid-19 patient within the different health districts in the North West Region of Cameroon. In addition to this, patients who are diabetics and Hypertensive, professional workers like teachers, security officers are the most exposed.

After receiving the SINOPHARM consignment, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh urged all medical personnel to mobilize themselves to receive this Vaccines in order to be an example for others to follow and above all respect barrier measures. The first person to receive the vaccine was Viang Mekala, the Secretary General of the Governor's office followed by the public health Delegate Dr. Che Soh Kingsley, The Director of the Regional Hospital, Dr. Denis Nsame plus other health personnel presents.

Talking to OJ SLIM MEDIA, the public health Delegate says the coming of Covid-19 Vaccines SINOPHARM, is a step towards combatting the virus as we are looking forward to Vaccinate over 5000 people and this will be during the coming weeks for the selected 23 health facilities to which the vaccines will be given out. The statistics of recent updates show that over 4580 positive cases, 3774 recoveries, 633 active cases, 173 deaths, 435 health personnel infected among whom 5 died, 41 infected pregnant women and 2 deaths. The Governor's representative used the opportunity to thank the Head of State President Paul Biya for all actions taken to improve on the health of the population against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Traditional Leaders Urge Government to Address Drug Abuse in Ntarikon 2 Community

On November 20, 2024, community spokespeople from the Adjust for Me project engaged religious and traditional leaders in an open discussion during a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Ntarikon 2. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of drug abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) within the community. Through this dialogue, the project sought to educate both youths and religious leaders on the dangers of substance abuse and to address how gender-based violence can be reduced in both the church and local communities. Peace journalists in Bamenda aquaint themselves with skills on humanitarian reporting and security/safety of journalists
