PCC OFFERS INNER PEACE TO IDPS THROUGH PSYCHO-SOCIAL SUPPORT

The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, through its Peace Office component of  radio for IDPs project, has offered psycho-social support, counselling, food stuff, mattresses and financial assistance to over 75 Internally Displaced Persons. It was also an opportunity for these IDPs to tell their stories, as a way of relief.  These gifts fall within the framework of the, PCC peace radio and IDPs project that seeks to provide wholistic healing, to IDPs after going through trauma as a result of the ongoing armed conflict rocking the two English speaking regions of Cameroon. One after the other, they took turns in front of Spiritual leaders, Rev. Pastors, to air out the ordeal they went through. Cognizant of the fact that  a problem shared is a problem half solved, Pastors reassured these IDPs that every dark cloud has a silver lining. As long as they are alive, there is hope. CYF MBENGWI STATION ADMITS NEW MEMBERS.

By Jerome Anoh in Meta Presbytery Some 8 youths have been received and admitted into the CYF group of Mbengwi Station in Meta Presbytery. The admission ceremony which took place at PC Mbengwi Station, Sunday 19th April 2020, was presided over by the Parish Pastor, the Rev Enongene Nelson in the presence of some Zonal and Presbytery executive not leaving out the Christian family of the congregation. In a sermon drawn from John 5:1-5 , the servant of God centered his message on the theme, "They will overcome." He went on expantiating on what the children of God will overcome in the world in which they find themselves.  He called on all to be born of God and accept Jesus Christ into their lives as their master and saviour adding that, when they are born again they will live a new life. COVID-19: RuWCED TAKES PROACTIVE STEPS IN NGOKETUNJIA

At their monthly meeting today April 10th 2020, aimed at evaluating the impact of their work on the population they serve, close to 50 members of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ NW) were  each handed a litre of hand sanitizer as part of pre-emptive measures to guard against the pandemic as they execute their duties daily. This was possible thanks to the romance that exists between the association and the NW Regional Delegation of Public Health that subsidized the purchase by 25%. Speaking, the president Ambe MacMillan said: " We're privileged that in the appeal we sent to  Minsante Delegate, he did us a 25% reduction in the cost.
