2023 SENATORIALS; CPDM SCORES 70/70

This senatorial election was of particular importance, since it was an opportunity for the various political parties to measure their strengths and assert their influence within the upper house of the Cameroonian Parliament. The dominance of the CPDM in this election reflects the pre-eminence of the ruling party on the national political scene.

Despite appeals filed by some opposition parties contesting the results, the electoral authorities ruled in favor of the CPDM, putting an end to electoral disputes. This decision formalizes the composition of the Senate for the coming term, thus strengthening the hold of the ruling party on the country's institutions.

The 2023 senatorial election campaign was marked by intense debate and controversy around the legitimacy of the results. However, with the closure of the electoral dispute, Cameroon is now turning the page and preparing to tackle the next political and legislative challenges with a Senate fully under the control of the CPDM.
