Young Stars FC is this years winner of the Wum Council Unity and Peace tournament after post match penalties win over Yakamata FC at the finals played at the Wum Municipal Stadium on Sunday December 20, 2020 under the watchful eyes of the SDO for Menchum, Abdoullahi Aliou. Journalists and Civil society organizations in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon have been trained by ADISI-CAMEROON in collaboration with Digital Security professionals on Digital Security, Data, it's tools and Digital storage. The 2 day workshop that took place in Buea, had different presentations from different speakers, which centered on knowledge on digital security , types of digital data, digital storage, encryption, Data privacy amongst others. According to these experts, the aim of the workshop was to train participants on how they can back up data using digital storage and tools for electronic devices like phones, computers or Laptops. Questions came up on how data can be stored and for how long it could last if not used. Zhoa Council in Fungom Subdivision of Menchum Division has adopted a sensational and impressive sum of 1,082,700,00 as its budget for the year 2021, witnessing an increase of 142,700,000 from the 2020 budget. The budget was voted last Friday 4th December 2020 during the council's budgetary session. According to the Mayor, Councillor Njah Titus Ndongkeh, the council's priority project is to raise the income so as to be able to realise the projects that could not be realised in 2018, 2019 and 2020 because of the socio-political stalemate in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon. He said the bulk of the Zhoa Council's 2021 budget, over 50% of it is allocated for investment, given the fact that the municipality is under developed and enclaved. Persons living with disability within Wum Municipality, joined their peers nation and world wide to observe the 2020 International Day of Persons with disabilities. The Day was celebrated under the auspices of the Divisional Delegation of Social Affairs for Menchum, whose Delegate, Mr. Akah Emmanuel, could be seen very satisfied for the successful celebration, in COVID-19era. He used the celebration to reiterate the need to respect the barrier measures put in place by the government. The annual observance of the International Day of PWDs, was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nation's General Assembly resolution 47/3. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. The Councillors of the Wum council in Menchum Division of the North-West Region have examined, scrutinized, voted and adopted an ambitious but realistic budget for the year 2021 for the Council. Charged with the daunting task of inclusively transforming their various constituencies, the 24 development actors of the Wum Council, have adopted the 2021 budget that balances in revenue and expenditure at the sum of Nine Hundred and Fifty Million and Fifty Thousand (950,050,000) francs, representing an increase rate of 1,5% of the 2020 budget. The increase noticed in the 2021 budget takes into cognizance all state credits.
