Major National Dialogue: Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute says time for peace is now

The Major National Dialogue to resolve the crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon has been officially opened by the Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. The PM began his keynote address with a minute of silence in remembrance of all who have died because of the crisis. He told national and International dignitaries, ex fighters and Delegates from all ten regions that President Paul Biya needs all Cameroonians to contribute to peace and North West and South West regions need to regain serenity. The Major National Dialogue kicked off with the Cameroon’s National Anthem executed by ex-combatants presently at the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Centres also participating in the Dialogue. As a show of the country’s dependence on God guidance, an inter-religious service preceded deliberations. Spiritual leaders who have been very vocal in the buildup to the Major National Dialogue once again took turns to pray for

National Dialogue My take

By Pedmia Shatu Tita*   Today at NDEFCAM Radio Bamenda on one of the most listened talk show program in the region Press and Associate, I was part of the team that examined issues around the much talked about National Dialogue. These are the things I said; I still feel that we are not yet ready for dialogue the people who matter in this crisis are not mentioned any where. We have cajoled this situation for 3 whole years can we be serious? There is a representational gap because I still don't see who is representing the boys. We must remember that this national dialogue is because of the guns in the hands of these fighters and if they are not represented at the table what difference will it make when those "represented" comeback to deafening gunshots? The content on the dialogue table still remains worrying to me. Why are some issues taboo subjects? Place all on the table and tell me reasons why you think I should not choose Federation or Secession r

FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Dr Basang Ayafor Marshall Victory It is very wrong to use people's past and their struggles against them during the heat of an argument. You were not there, you didn't know what they went through and how they came out of it. They opened up their wounds & pain to you! When people let you in on their struggles and past hurts, it's simply because they feel safe believing they can TRUST you. That's a privilege!!! Some do it so that you can know them better & for you to know how to handle them ,not for you to use it as a tool to stab them. You dont have to murder someone before you kill them, your words can kill them too. Your words can set them back if they are not strong enough. Some people may look tough but may be struggling on the inside. Don't make people regret knowing you! Don't be the one who digs up an ugly past that God has already began a process with. Don't be the reason why they cry back to God! Let the past

Ahead of Grand National Dialogue: Anglophones Begin Seeing Light at the End of the Tunnel

As the clock is ticking through out the territorial confines of the beautifully unique Central African country, Cameroon, unarguably described as Africa in miniature,  all heads are uniformly turning  towards the nation's political capital, Yaounde as the count down to the highly anticipated grand national dialogue tappers down to the D-day, September 30th 2019. At the tail end of 2016, lawyers and teachers across the two English speaking regions of Cameroon took the government to task, requesting for reforms in the educational and legal systems of the country that will permit them to better practice in the language they master most. Their demands had nothing to do neither  with the form of the state nor secession. Meanwhile proponents of secession had long been nursing ambitions of destabilizing the long reigning peace Cameroon had been priding itself of. For years they'd incessantly been looking for avenues to push through their agenda, reason wh

Cameroon Gov’t dispatches delegation to woo diaspora ahead of National Dialogue

A group of persons have been dispatched across the world to receive contributions of Cameroonians living in the diaspora ahead of the Major National Dialogue. The various delegations will be heading to parts of Europe, America and on the continent to discuss with Cameroonians and get their views ahead of the dialogue. The delegation to America and Canada is headed by Prof. Fru Angwafor and has as members Pr. Ufei Chinje Melo, Senator Mbella Moki Charles and Hon. Mbe Assae. The delegation moving to France, UK, Belgium and Germany is headed by Prof. Diane Acha Mofor while that heading to Nigeria and South Africa is led by Hon. Enwi Francis. The delegation has a tough task of convincing Ambazonia separatists to take part in the Major National Dialogue which holds at the end of the month. Two years ago, delegations sent by the government of Cameroon to dialogue with Cameroonians in the diaspora led to ugly scenes in Belgium, South Africa, Canada and the USA.

10 things every woman wants her man to do without asking

We, human beings, like to take things for granted. When it comes to relationships, based on our previous experience (or lack of such) we tend to miss some important red flags or simply forget about things that are actually dear to our other half’s heart. Women are emotional creatures, so it’s only natural that things that are most important to them are often not from the material realm, but rather deal with some spiritual values and general showcases of affection that don’t necessarily include actual presents. For instance, women like to talk about feelings. Even if you’re not a fan of doing that, it’s still necessary to speak out what’s on your mind from time to time – it’s kind of expected of you. Here’s a list of 10 things women would like men to do without being told. Take her on dates Whether you’ve just met or have already lived together for some time, it’s always important to keep your relationships fresh. Some women love surprises, others not so mu

Accusations of Human rights violations on BIR: MINCOM debunks media reports

The Minister of Communication René Emmanuel Sadi has refuted reports accusing the Rapid Intervention Battalion B.I.R of human rights violations in the English speaking regions of Cameroon. In a press briefing on Sunday 22nd September 2019, Minister René Emmanuel Sadi strongly condemned the dissemination of such false information. He stated that some foreign media channels including “Mediapart” have posted coarsely edited videos with concocted narratives on their online platforms to tarnish the image of the Cameroonian army. One of the reports was titled, “In Cameroon, the Dirty Work of a special unit equipped by France, the Rapid Intervention Battalion, an elite unit of 5,000 soldiers, is suspected of worse abuses in secret chambers of torture.” As an elite unite, the Communication Minister said these allegations on the BIR is intended to discredit and manipulate national and international opinion and stir resentment and tensions at a time when the country is en
