L’ancien arrière-droit du FC porto a été nommé ce 20 septembre par le Ministre des Sports et de l’Education physique en remplacement de Clarence Seedorf.

Le nouveau sélectionneur national des Lions Indomptables du Cameroun arrive alors que CHOUPO-MOTING et ses coéquipiers viennent de passer la période FIFA du mois de septembre sans livrer la moindre rencontre amicale et au moment où des inquiétudes persistent quand à celle d’octobre. Le Portugais Antonio Conceiçao Da Silva Oliveira doit  redorer le blason des champions d’Afrique 2017, rentrés en 8èmes de finales de la récente Coupe d’Afrique des nations 2019 en Egypte.

Antonio Conceiçao Da Silva Oliveira : première expérience en sélection nationale

Le nouveau sélectionneur des Lions Indomptables prend la tête d’une sélection nationale pour la toute première fois dans sa carrière.  En 16 ans de carrière d’entraineur, il a dirigé 14 clubs de football et navigué entre les premières et deuxièmes divisions Portugaises et roumaines. Un seul trophée à la clé, celui de la Segunda Liga portugaise en 2014 avec le Moreirence Futebol Clube de Moreira de Cónegos, club qu’il avait promu en première Division cette année-là. Le dernier fait d’arme de l’ancien défenseur portugais remonte à Février 2019. Recruté par son club roumain de cœur Fotbal Club CFR 1907 Cluj, club de première division en Roumanie, le sélectionneur a été limogé après 3 défaites successives, malgré le fait que son club trônait toujours à la tête du classement.
Les adjoints
Antonio Conceiçao Da Silva Oliveira sera secondé dans ce travail par François Omam Biyick qui occupe le poste d’Entraineur-sélectionneur adjoint principal. Autres nominations dans la sélection nationale de football masculine, Jacques Célestin Songo’o, en qualité d’Entraineur adjoint chargé des gardiens de buts. Le Pr William Ngatchou Djomo assumera la charge de médecin de l’équipe.

Breaking the Cycle: Confronting Gender-Based Violence and Drug Abuse in Bamenda

In a bid to tackle the pressing issues of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and drug abuse, the "Adjust for Me" project, implemented by Common Action for Gender Development (COMAGEND), has been making strides in the Ntarikon 2 community, Bamenda. The project, which aims to raise awareness and educate the community on the causes, consequences, and prevention of GBV and drug abuse, has been well-received by community members. Peace journalists in Bamenda aquaint themselves with skills on humanitarian reporting and security/safety of journalists

This statement was  made by Fonyuy Kiven Frankline, the information officer at the United Nations for the coordination of humanitarian affairs, on December 27 2019 at Ntamulung church center hall as he trained peace journalists in Bamenda on humanitarian reporting and Security/safety of journalists. Organized by the Cameroon community media Network CCMN Northwest chapter, mr Funyuy Kiven trained the journalists present,  on the importance of always taking into consideration, your safety and security, before embarking on any mission.
