Governor Lele welcoming Ikom Policarp back home
The Head of State last September 10th 2019, in an address to the nation, extended a hand of fellowship to the various armed groups in the North-West and South-West Regions. I wish to solemnly reiterate this offer today.  Those who voluntarily lay down their arms and place themselves at the disposal of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Centers have nothing to fear. Their fellow armed group members who are already there can testify to this.”

Ikom Polycarp, yielded to the Head of State's September 10th's clarion call, and publicly confessed during the installation ceremony of the 33rdSenior Divisional Officer for Menchum.

Ikom Polycarp, last public outing before his untimely death

Ikom Polycarp, an ex-Ambazonian fighter, is reported to have been  killed last night by unknown men in Wum after he publicly laid down his weapons, during the installation of the SDO for Menchum Division, Abdoulayi Aliou. He is said to be the President of commercial moto-bike riders.
At the moment, tongues are wagging as to why after reportedly throwing in the towel , Ikom Polycarp was abandoned to himself albeit to the wrath of separatists or others at a time when the state boastfully heralds complete security for fighters who vote the struggle with their feet.
Among the topics discussed in loo tune, is this social media post from an ex-student in Wum.

Did he see it happening?

some say he is to young to write as such.
Despite this premonitory message, another message sprawled from the social media, claiming the assassination of the ex-fighter.

At the end of the day, many are asking the question to know who killed the ex-fighter. To many Menchum denizens, this is a severe blow to government’s efforts of bringing back peace in the two troubled regions.

The big question lingering on my mind right now is to know Where the much heralded rehabilitation centers are?

Traditional Leaders Urge Government to Address Drug Abuse in Ntarikon 2 Community

On November 20, 2024, community spokespeople from the Adjust for Me project engaged religious and traditional leaders in an open discussion during a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Ntarikon 2. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of drug abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) within the community. Through this dialogue, the project sought to educate both youths and religious leaders on the dangers of substance abuse and to address how gender-based violence can be reduced in both the church and local communities. Many religious leaders expressed that while some progress has been made, the increasing prevalence of drug abuse among young people remains a pressing concern. "Our youths are falling victim to drugs, and it's taking a toll on their health, well-being, and futures," one community leader remarked. The discussion linked the rise in drug abuse to the economic challenges and ongoing socio-political unrest that have left many youths ...
